Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

My child cannot recite the alphabet. Should I worry?
Reciting the alphabet teaches a sequence rather than a symbol set, and it predicts reading far less well than most people assume. The guide explains what to do instead, and when a delay is genuinely worth raising.
Are letter reversals a sign of dyslexia?
Writing b for d is developmentally normal well into the sixth year. The guide sets out what is normal, and which signals are worth an early conversation.
What age is it for?
Two to five years.
What format is it?
A 14-page PDF, readable on a phone, a tablet or printed.
